• Originally branded as “Silver Shields” we are now operating this division under the heading of “Off Duty Backup”, reflecting the close ties we have developed with Off Duty – as noted below.
• We offer the services of our associates mainly to police forces, but also to other public bodies, such as local authorities, and to private sector organizations.
• Our associates are available either as temporary or contracted workers.
• Within the police service our associates will typically be engaged in supporting the activities of front line officers, thereby freeing valuable resources in the fight against crime.
• Our associate base is constantly expanding and encompasses former officers of all ranks, both with general and specialist skills across a wide spectrum of police activity.
• Although we are able to provide long-term solutions, our associates are not, in general, looking for permanent positions. They provide a service which can be switched on and off at contractually short notice, giving our clients complete flexibility in dealing with temporary peaks in workload.
• We operate in an exclusive collaborative arrangement with “Off Duty” – a long established website dedicated to serving the needs of retired police officers. Through Off Duty we have access to one of the UK’s largest databases of retired police and criminal justice professionals. Off Duty’s website can be visited at www.offduty.co.uk.
